The beginning of the Wavoo Magdoom Group of compaies as seen today, dates bakc 107 years when Wavoo Magdoom Mohammed's forefathers began dealing in the gem trade. In the 1920's, the company's gem and jewelry trade began in Ratnapura (City of Gems) and Colombo, Sri Lanka. By the late 1950's Wavoo Magdoom Mohammed took over operations of the company and began to expand the activities of the Group. The establishment of Wavoosons Jewelrys occurred in 1958 at Kottayam, Kerala. This lead to the beginning of the Gem Export House, known as Wavoo Sons in 1964 at Chennal (Madras) subsequently the real estate establishment known as Wavoo Real Estate Corporation. At the same time the wing of the Group was extended to Asia, namely Hong Kong in 1964. Twenty years later the Bangkok office was established, making the company a truly international company. After th deimise of Wavoo Mogdoom Mohammed in 1995, his sons and sons-in-law took control of all operations.
